Who killed the Ästhetikers??

Will Barrace did not leave his art studio at Europahaus until 3 am. By that time three masterpieces of artwork were finished. After all the paint balloons were thrown on the boards, they were transferred in the valley where Will was ready to paint as soon as the paint was dry. A plastic film, which was glued on the boards, was removed and paint was left within some symbols only. It now was Will’s job to make something out of those really colorful symbols and paint splashes. Considering how long people look at the artwork he must have done a good job.

Winter is back in Tirol. Yesterday everybody enjoyed the warm temperatures in T-shirts, but today it was about time to look for warm jackets, pants and a solid first layer. And because there was hardly any snow during the last weeks all the riders seemed to be stoked anyway. Instead of worrying about the park being snowed in, people had fun looking at the trees vanishing under snow and getting some sweet powder runs on their way to the park.

The Date for the Modart Game: Who Killed the Ästhetiker could not have been picked any better. It was the falling snow which eventually made it the kind of contest as it was planned in the very beginning. It was a combination of snowboarding and art. 2x1m wooden boards were placed on the table of the halfpipe in the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen, Tyrol, where they waited for the riders to throw balloons filled with paint on them during their pipe runs. After the event the boards were transferred to Europahaus where British artist Will Barras works on them and will finally present 3 impressive artworks. The event was actually scheduled to be a team contest, however, the riders decided to can contest and pressure, in order to just enjoy the fun of just riding together. Ästhetiker Chris CK Kröll was happy with that decision because falling snow and the idea of the art event alike asked a lot more for a chilled session than a judged contest. One hour later all balloons were blasted, the boards were covered in paint and the riders jackets, pants, goggles and beanies were pretty much destroyed. Despite of the cold conditions Ingemar Backmann, Stefan Karlson and all the other riders were motivated till the very end of the day and obviously had the same fun as Derry from Modart Magazine, who had the idea of the special event.
