IOU Mega Mini Ramp on the Wängl Skate Jam:

This year the Ästhetikers set up a huge mini ramp. The ramp was build by the one and only IOU crew around Andreas Schützenberger. This beast has huge dimentions; 22 metres long and over 11 meter wide. On the coping are roll-ins, curbs, other funny and hard stuff.. Come and shred the beast.

Aesthetiker Skate Jam

In 2008 the third edition of the Ästhetiker Skate Jam will take place. From 6th to 7th of March 2008, Mayrhofen will be the venue for skateboarding at its finest.  The Mega-Miniramp by IOU will come to Mayrhofen! Last year’s winners Michi Nadler and European champion Philipp Schuster will take care of fine-tuning and the set up of special features. The best Austrian Skaters together with international pros like Danny Wainright or Micky Iglesias will skate in the single and team ranking for US$ 10.000. - prize money.

The skate history of the Aesthetiker is a long one. In 2004 the first ‘Money Give Away Jam’ took place at the Aesthetiker tour stop ‘Jibben Days’ in Klagenfurt. At the time, the field of competitors was already packed with Austrian heroes such as Philipp Schuster, Manuel Margreiter and Dominik Dietrich, who had an unbelievable session. Last year the mini ramp and street were incredible happenings proving that it was much more than just a side event. Skaters showed that skating in Austria compared to international standards is up front! To name just a few Chris Pfanner, Phillip Schuster, Michi Nadler, Manuel Magreither, Reini Ritsch and Mario Wirnsberger delivered a real firework show of tricks that left everyone with mouths wide open.

The skate contest of 2008 will outshine all past events with a specially designed mini ramp and will have prize money of US$ 10.000. The 6th and 7th of March is an important date for all skaters. The IOU-Mega-Miniramp will be on the first floor of the ‘Europashaus’ in Mayrhofen! This will be an unbelievable experience for skaters and spectators as it is an atmosphere like nowhere else. At the ‘Money Give Away Jam’ on the 6th of March a little money is given away for the best and most stylish tricks. The 7th of March is the date for the Tag Team Contest. Teams consisting of two skaters will deliver their Tag Team performance in the Mega Miniramp. Registrations already promise a lot: Team Germany with Volker Peterson and his friend Anders Tellen are eager to set the standards high just as Danny Wainwright or Micky Iglesias who can’t wait to show everyone what’s up. Last years street champ Phil Schuster will take part just as the incumbent miniamp winner Michi Nadler and the French skate hero Samuel Partaix. Francisco ‘Xico’ Basabe and Victor Nervy from Brazil will spice everything up with a little Caribbean skate flavour. It is all about getting hold of the US$10.000 prize money!

The creation of the obstacles is a serious matter for the Aesthetiker; the crew stands for innovation concerning obstacle construction on snow as well as with skate ramps. For that reason Andreas Schuetzenberger and the crew from IOU ramps are assigned to the IOU- Mega-Miniramp. IOU ramps stand for innovation which is the ideal requirement to take a step towards creativity.

The highlight of everything is that the IOU-Mega-Miniramp is opened for everyone to skate during the whole week except when it is contest time. For the Aesthetiker it is important that the spectators and guests get the opportunity to try the obstacles to improve their skills.
