Crowning of the Royal Family and many happy faces at the tour finals in Mayrhofen

 

With bluebird and spring temperatures, the Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards celebrated its finals on March 11^th and 12^th at the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen. The last stage of the popular Snowboard Amateur Series kicked-off with the Contest Day on Saturday. Snowboarders of all age groups were not only battling for attractive spots on the day podium, but also trying to rake in last points for the overall tour ranking. After four out of four events, the new royal Zillertal Välley Rälley family was finally crowned in Mayrhofen. After the contest, the kings and queens 2016/2016 were honored and celebrated at the FinÄl Crowning Party at Scotland Yard Pub. Sunday was fun day! Some of the youngest local up-and-coming talents were getting involved in the coaching sessions with the Ästhetiker and the very 1^st Penken Fun RIDE Battle presented by Billabong went down with more than fifty competitors on the new Fun Ride Slope at the Penken Park, while not only the top podium spots got rewarded with nice prizes by Billabong. To wrap up an amazing final weekend, everyone tweaked it under the bar at the Limbo RIDE to take home even more prizes from Ride Snowboards. What a final! Just in time for the last Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards tourstop, the Vans Penken Park Mayrhofen came up with a gigantic setup of eight different lines and the new Penken Fun Ride course. On Saturday, snowboarders of all age groups took it with the creative slopestyle setup. Beside the day podiums, medals and prizes, the Overall Välley Rälley victory and all titles of the Queens and Kings of the Välley 2017 were up for grabs at the final tourstop in Mayrhofen.

It was Joscha Storz from Germany, who claimed the Billabong Best Trick award with his creative backflip shifty shifty. Marie Kreisingerova from Czech Republic got entitled “most impressive grom of the day.” In the super groms category, 10-year-old Amber Fennell and 11-year-old Lewis Hopkinson, both from Great Britain, took first place. Evy Poppe from Belgium and Gabe Adams from Great Britain both climbed the top of the groms podiums. With these results, all four groms and super groms day winners took over the lead in the overall tour ranking and finally got crowned the new Kings and Queens of the Välley 2017 in their categories. Amber Conrdingley and Billy Cockrell, both from Great Britain, won the rookie competition, but their overall results could not quite cut the actual throne claimants points. In the end it was Emma Lantos (AUT) sharing the rookie girls crown with Adela Kreisingerova (CZE) with equal points. Previous year´s winner Jan Rovensky (CZE) managed to defend his title as the one and only King of the Välley in the rookie boys class. All overall rookie winners earned themselves a wildcard for the World Rookie Finals 2017 in Kaprun.

In the women´s contest, Anna Lora from Austria won the gold medal. Czech ripper Tereza Sebkova took home the bronze medal and takes the reins as the new Queen of the Välley 2017.

Englishman Simon Cudlip put down an convincing run and managed to win the men´s competition. But in the end Austrian team coach Felix Widnig dominated the overall ranking and got crowned King of the Välley 2017 in the men´s class.

Sunday´s Penken Fun Ride Battle by Billabong was about the fastest runs on the Penken Fun Ride course. Czech boardercross champ Dan Kaspar scored the best time of the day and won the men´s challenge with unbeatable 41.58 seconds. 

The Belgian women could not be beaten in any way. Evy Poppe took the top spot in the grom girls category and Djoelie Ectors raced to first place in the women´s class. Dutch young gun Dan Mansiwa finally won the grom boys race.

Once again, the Välley Rälley found a graceful finish with many happy faces. Mario Toelderer from Mayrhofner Bergbahnen Marketing & Events was delighted about the successful event: „Super motivated riders, a magnificient event crew and a perfectly shaped Penken Park, bluebird and great vibes all over the place, all this made the Välley Rälley finals a perfect weekend on the mountain. You could feel the snowboarding spirit at every single tourstop and I am already looking forward to next season´s Välley Rälley comeback!“

Krönung der Königsfamilie und viele glückliche Gesichter beim Tourfinale in Mayrhofen

 

Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein und frühlingshaften Temperaturen feierte die Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards am 11. und 12. März ihr großes Finale im Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen. Beim letzten Contest der beliebten Snowboard Amateur Serie ging es am Samstag nicht nur ums Tagespodium, sondern vor allem auch um den heiß begehrten Gesamttoursieg. Nach vier von vier Events wurden die Overall Winner

zur neuen Zillertal Välley Rälley Königsfamilie gekrönt. Der Hofstaat feierte seine neuen Kings und Queens 2017 anschließend gebührend bei der FinÄl Crowning Party im Scotland Yard Pub in Mayrhofen. Am Sonntag fand die Zillertal Välley Rälley ihren Ausklang mit den Ästhetiker Coaching Sessions für jung und jünger im Vans Penken Park. Über fünfzig Starter gingen anschließend bei dem Penken Fun Ride Battle auf der neuen Fun Ride Strecke an den Start. Billabong bescherte nicht nur den Top Platzierten jede Menge Preise. Zum Abschluss des Tages honorierte Ride Snowboards die beste Akrobatik beim Limbo RIDE mit vielen Sachpreisen. Was für ein Tourabschluss! Zum großen Välley Rälley Finale erstrahlte der Vans Penken Park mit einem gigantischen Setup auf acht verschiedenen Lines. Am Samstag kämpften die Teilnehmer sämtlicher Altersklassen im Slopestyle Contest nicht nur um den Tagessieg, sondern auch um die Overall Välley Rälley Führung und somit jede Menge Ruhm, Ehre und den Titel als Kings und Queens of the Välley 2017!

Joscha Storz aus Deutschland begeisterte nicht nur die Judges mit einem kreativen Backflip shifty shifty und sahnte damit den Billabong Best Trick Award ab, während Marie Kreisingerova (CZE) von den Ästhetikern den Award als „most impressive Grom“ des Tages überreicht bekam. Bei den Super Groms holten sich die 10-jährige Amber Fennell und der 11-jährige Lewis Hopkinson, beide vom Team GBR, jeweils die Goldmedaille. Evy Poppe aus Belgien und Gabe Adams vom Team GBR kletterten bei den Groms ganz oben aufs Podium. Mit diesen Erfolgen übernahmen alle vier Tagessieger auch jeweils die Führung im Gesamttourranking ihrer jeweiligen Kategorien und wurden nach dem Contest zu den neuen Kings und Queens of the Välley gekrönt. Bei den Rookies gewannen Amber Cordingley und Billy Cockrell, beide vom Team GBR den Tageswettbewerb. Die Gesamtpunktezahl reichte aber nicht, um die jeweiligen Thronanwärter zu verjagen. So teilen sich schließlich Emma Lantos (AUT) und Adela Kreisingerova (CZE) den Titel als Queens of the Välley bei den Rookie Girls. Vorjahres-Overall Sieger Jan Rovensky (CZE) ist und bleibt unangefochtener King of the Välley in der Rookie Boys Klasse. Alle Rookie Overall Sieger qualifizieren sich für die World Rookie Finals 2017 in Kaprun.

Bei den Frauen gewann Anna Lora aus Österreich den Tageswettbewerb. Die Tschechin Tereza Sebkova nimmt als Drittplatzierte des Tages anschließend das Zepter als neue Queen of the Välley 2017 in die Hand. Der Engländer Simon Cudlip freut sich sichtlich über seinen erfolgreichen Run, mit dem er sich den 1. Platz im Contest der Männer verdient. Der Österreichische Team Coach Felix Widnig wird mit seinem Ergebnis jedoch als Dritter im

Tageswettbewerb und bester im Gesamttourranking zum King of the Välley bei den Herren gekrönt.

Beim Penken Fun Ride Battle by Billabong ging es dann am Sonntag um die beste Zeit. Als Boardercross Ass lieferte der Tscheche Dan Kaspar mit 41.58 Sekunden den schnellsten Run bei den Männern. Bei den Mädels waren die Belgierinnen nicht zu schlagen. So fuhren Evy Poppe (Grom Girls) und Djoelie Ectors (Frauen) jeweils auf den ersten Platz. Dan Mansiwa aus den Niederlanden gewann schließlich in der Grom Boys Kategorie.

Viele glückliche Gesichter waren zum großen Tourfinale 2017 in Mayrhofen an der Tagesordnung und die Välley Rälley hat wieder einmal einen würdigen Abschluss gefunden. Mario Tölderer, Marketing & Events Mayrhofner Bergbahnen freut sich über den gelungenen Event: „Super motivierte Teilnehmer, eine großartige Eventcrew, top geshapter Penken Park, Bluebird und jede Menge gute Stimmung haben das Välley Rälley Finale in Mayrhofen zu einem perfekten Wochenende am Berg gemacht. Man fühlt den Snowboardspirit bei jedem einzelnen Tourstop und ich freue mich bereits aufs nächste Jahr, wenn es wieder heißt VÄLLEY RÄLLEY IS ON!“

3rd stage at Zillertal Arena/Gerlos with bluebird and perfect conditions

 

Just in time for the 3^rd stage of the Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards, the Zillertal Arena/Gerlos showed off with bluebird, perfect snow conditions and a weekend full of sunshine and great vibes. In a relaxed atmosphere, the Coaching Day was all about testing the latest gear from Ride Snowboards, coaching sessions with the Ästhetiker and team coaches and the RIDE highest Ollie contest. Sunday was the big Contest Day. More than a hundred riders were not only battling it out for fame, glory and prize money, but also for the Välley Rälley crown! Snowboarders from all different nations threw down their best style tricks to grab for one of the popular Ästhetiker medals and rake in some prize money and valuable points in the overall ranking. Better conditions? Almost impossible! The third Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards Europe tourstop went down with bluebird and sunshine at Snowpark Gerlos, Zillertal Arena on January 21^st and 22^nd, 2017. In a relaxed atmosphere, riders and teams from all over Europe joined the practice with the Äshtetiker on the Coaching Day. For the perfect ending of the day, snowboarders of all age groups took it with grace and style, jumping over the rising bar of the Ride highest Ollie contest. Not the top spot, but fun and creativity were the main topics on Saturday and everyone took home a great bunch of prizes from Ride Snowboards. The Contest Day was finally all about the crown! The penultimate tourstop brought up an indicatory change in the Overall Välley Rälley tour rankings. As for all tourstops, points in the World Snowboard Tour Ranking were up for grabs in Gerlos, and the contest counts as a part of the N.ASA Austria Cups.

After an exciting competition the well-deserved stage winners were celebrated amid the applause of the crowd. In the super groms category, Karolina Stroh from Germany and Lewis Hopkinson from GBR took the top spot of the podium. Previous year´s winner Evy Poppe from Belgium won the contest in the grom girls class and Baldur Vilhelmsson from Iceland took home the grom boys gold medal. Czech Adela Kreisingerova and Austrian high flyer Moritz Kaufmann both won the rookie competition. No one was able to beat the Belgians in the women´s or men´s contest and so the top spots went to Djoelie Ectors and Ben Theunissen. Their friend and countryman, Kevin Trammer, did not only earn the silver medal in the men´s category, but also scored the Billabong best Trick Award and a complete outerwear outfit with his stylish 360 in, 360 out on the first rail. As the youngest ripper of the day, 7-year old Matti Bockhorni got rewarded “Most impressive Grom of the Day” by the Äshtetiker.

Heike Schoof, from the Marketing department of Zillertal Arena is delighted about the positive outcome of the event: “Looking back at an amazing weekend with perfect weather and a well organized contest, we are delighted, to be the host of the Välley Rälley for the third time in a row. All participants were showing off and obviously having a lot of fun in the Zillertal Arena/Gerlos.”

Strahlender Sonnenschein beim 3. Tourstop in Gerlos - Zillertal Arena

 

Pünktlich zum 3. Tourstop zeigte sich die Zillertal Arena am 21. und 22. Januar 2017 von ihrer besten Seite. Die weite Anreise vieler Teilnehmer wurde zum 3. Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards Tourstop in der Zillertal Arena/Gerlos mit perfekten Bedingungen und einem Wochenende voller Sonnenschein belohnt. In entspannter Atmosphäre standen am Coaching Tag neben dem kostenlosen Materialtest von Ride Snowboards, auch die Coaching Sessions mit den Ästhetikern und Team Coaches, sowie der Ride highest Ollie Contest auf dem Programm. Am Sonntag ging es dann beim Slopestyle Contest nicht nur um Ruhm, Ehre und Preisgeld, sondern diesmal besonders um den Style und die Välley Rälley Krone! Snowboarder sämtlicher Nationalitäten präsentierten ihre besten Tricks vor großem Publikum, um sich schließlich auch eine Medaille und Punkte im Gesamt Tour Ranking zu verdienen. Besser? Geht fast gar nicht! Der dritte Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards Tourstop ging unter wolkenlosem Himmel über Gerlos und mit strahlendem Sonnenschein in der Zillertal Arena über die Bühne. Wie immer wurde am Coaching Tag tatkräftig im Snowpark trainiert und getestet, was das Zeug hält. Zum Abschluss des Tages übertrafen sich die Teilnehmer sämtlicher Altersklassen beim Ride highest Ollie Contest. Dabei stand nicht der Sieg, sondern die Kreativität und der Spass an einer gemeinsamen Session im Vordergrund stand. Schließlich gingen alle glücklich und zufrieden mit jeder Menge Sachpreisen von Ride Snowboards nach Hause. Am Contest Tag ging es dann um die Krone! Denn der vorletzte Tourstop brachte eine richtungsweisende Neuverteilung im Välley Rälley Gesamt Tour Ranking und wertvolle Punkte im World Snowboard Tour Ranking und für die N.ASA AustriaCups mit sich.

Die Tagessieger wurden in gewohnter Manier gefeiert und geehrt. Bei den Kleinsten standen Karolina Stroh aus Deutschland und Lewis Hopkinson vom Team UK ganz oben auf dem Super Grom Treppchen. Vorjahres-Välley-Rälley-Prinzessin Evy Poppe aus Belgien gewann den Contest der Grom Girls, während Baldur Vilhelmsson aus Island bei den Grom Boys die Goldmedaille absahnte. Adela Kreisingerova aus Tschechien und Moritz Kaufmann aus Österreich heißen die Sieger der Rookie Klasse. Weder bei den Frauen, noch bei den Männern kam jemand an den Belgiern vorbei: sowohl Djoelie Ectors, als auch Ben Theunissen schafften es jeweils auf dem ersten Platz. Ihr Landsmann Kevin Trammer holte sich nicht nur die Silbermedaille bei den Männern. Mit seinem stylischen 360 in, 360 out auf dem ersten Rail beeindruckte er die Judges und räumte zusätzlich den Billabong Best Trick Award und ein komplettes Outerwear Outfit ab. Als jüngster Teilnehmer wurde schließlich der 7-jährige Matti Bockhorni von den Ästhetikern mit dem “Most impressive Grom” Award ausgezeichnet.
