Qualification Inscription now Open!
The inaugural Ästhetiker Winter MÄSH presented by G-Shock in Saalbach Hinterglemm is putting on a 25 Team Qualification Session taking in the best 4 Teams to face up against the 12 invited Teams in the 16-Team Head-to-Head Knockout night time main event in the Nightpark in front of the Schwarzcher function center.
The Winter MÄSH in Saalbach Hinterglemm is a Team event. Which means, 2 Snowboarders ride together on the one course at the same time and are judged by our expert snowboard critics. To rack up the sickest scores, both riders need stomp their tricks and combine tech lines with air time with your team buddy. The judges do not score each rider and add the individual scores together - they look only at the show the two riders throw down together. Simply put, it's 'Team Format Judging'.
Ästhetiker events have always been about riding, and this year it will be no different. The 25 teams will ride in two lengthy sessions where the judged Top 4 Teams will make it to the nigh time Main Event.
When we say it is an 'Open' Qualification, we really mean it. It's open to everybody. It can be a 2-Man Team, a Man and a Woman Team, or a 2-Woman Team. Hell, it can be a cat and a dog... we don't care. It just needs to be two!

First Five Teams Down and Announced for the Winter MÄSH
The 2-Man team snowboard action is guaranteed to get hot for the inaugural Ästhetiker Winter MÄSH presented by G-Shock in Saalbach Hinterglemm 13th - 15th February as the first teams for the main event are announced. Twelve invited teams will meet four qualified teams for the 16-team Head-to-Head night time finals in the new contest line in the Nightpark, Hinterglemm. In the new 2-man team format, rail wizardry will meet air time as the riders overall joint performance in the unique Team Judging system.
No strangers to team snowboard events, the 'Young Austrian Guns' of Team YMCA consisting of Mathias Weisenbacher and Clemens Schattschneider already look on paper look like an imposing force, but it would be a mistake to take anything for granted with other raging new comers in teams like The Collective boasting the impressive Max Buri(SUI) and indomitable Brage Richenberg(NOR).
Yet, as so often in team based events it may come down to the tactics, experience and determination that may win out over pure enthusiasm, where teams like The Homies consisting of Tonton Holland(SUI) and Jules Raymond(SUI), Team G-Cocks captained by Chris Kröll(AUT) with partner Mario Wanger(AUT), or ignore them at your peril, Team Absolut captained by the man himself, Herbie Thaler(AUT) and team mate, Michi Stanschitz(AUT).
Team YMCA - Mathias Weisenbacher(AUT) / Clemens Schattschneider(AUT)
